Does my ask suck?

Before your AI makes the thing, let it help you think through what would make the thing useful.

Try it on a real request.

The email you keep rewriting. The research brief that keeps getting broader. The ad that looks right but says nothing. Bring the actual ask.

This skill asks your AI to spot the consequential gap, interview you about it, and turn the answers into a brief with a playbook and clear review criteria. It can also help research practitioner expertise when the missing piece is experience.

It challenges the request without insulting the requester. And if your ask is already clear, it should tell you and get on with the work.

Copy. Add your ask. Think it through.

  1. Copy the skill instructions below into a conversation with your AI.
  2. Add the starter message and replace the placeholder with your actual request.
  3. Answer the questions that change the work. Check the resulting brief, its assumptions, and the evidence before you build.

You can use the instructions as a conversation prompt without installing a skill. Research depends on your AI having browsing access. Use it to surface the decisions, then test the work with real buyers.
